We must know by now in the third century and lead now.
The Enlightenment was in the 17th. [We] are the called ones
not because of anything that we have done, pray tell
(Democrat, Republican, Independent, Green party).
We are called out to struggle again and again
into a process like birth
we come from an organic condition
an economy of chemistry, scale, a world history and American history
and two-person rapture and love making
from brain cells, through the bowels of the body,
to the belly and womb, through mother…who
represents generations
and we have to leave sponsored-love,
and have to discontinue living off of another.
We reach for God ourselves.
We have to make adjustments
out here.
We come, into the light
into dimension, into the realm
and fight with gravity and force
and order, and then we are slapped
on the bottom to clear our throats so we can give voice
for ourselves and give
rise to our very own presence to
translate light and to
begin inventory like contemporary Adams.
We give name to every circumstance,
to every insect, genus, species and kind
accounting-for-ourselves summations for the divine
from on our knees, we still babble in space-time reality,
about what we can't do, and yet still
translate into self-sustaining pleas petitions
for life and balance, grace and favor,
even luck. What is sovereign pulling us through these gravities?

Our bellies are satisfied
by the fruit of
our mouths,
we are begotten.
A man.
